Icetubs at Red Bull Gym Clash Netherlands Final: Supporting Recovery on Competition Day
Icetubs supports athlete recovery at the Red Bull Gym Clash Netherlands Final, helping teams manage fatigue and muscle recovery throughout competition day.

Represent your gym. That is where it starts.
On March 22, at CrossFit Gymert in Gemert, gyms from across the Netherlands send their two strongest men and two strongest women to compete at the national final of Red Bull Gym Clash. It is the stage where teams fight to prove they are not just fit, but the fittest gym in the country.
As the official recovery partner, we support athletes throughout competition day by making cold water immersion part of their recovery between workouts.
Red Bull Gym Clash calls it the search for “The Greatest Gym on Earth.” At the national final, that ambition feels real.
The Test of Gym Performance
Red Bull Gym Clash is a global fitness competition where gyms compete against each other in teams of four. Two men. Two women. One collective effort.
It is not only about lifting heavy or moving fast. It is a strategic battle of power, endurance, and skill. Teamwork is tested in every phase. Communication matters. Timing matters. Trust matters.

The national final challenges teams through three demanding sessions, separated by short five-minute breaks. Each workout tests a different dimension of performance:
Power Workout (10 minutes)
A barbell complex combining clean, front squat, and shoulder-to-overhead. Only one athlete lifts at a time. Explosiveness, precision, and coordination are decisive.
Endurance Workout (AMRAP)
Synchro dumbbell work combined with air bike calories. All four athletes remain involved, pacing through clusters, reverse lunges, and shoulder-to-overhead repetitions while managing calorie targets under fatigue.
Skills Workout (10 minutes)
A high-intensity ladder alternating sandbag lifts and synchro burpee box jump overs. Technique under pressure, communication, and composure determine the outcome.
Only the most complete and cohesive teams move forward toward the World Final, the ultimate final battle where gyms compete for the title of “The Greatest Gym on Earth.”
Performance Across Repeated Efforts
What defines the national final is not only intensity, but repetition.
Athletes are required to deliver high output across multiple sessions in a single day. Strength must be reproduced. Endurance must be sustained. Technical execution must remain sharp even as fatigue builds.
Five minutes between workouts does not reset the body. It compresses recovery time. The ability to manage effort between sessions becomes part of the strategy.
Performance is not isolated. It accumulates. And so does fatigue.
As Intensity Accumulates
Repeated maximal effort places stress on the body.
Muscle fatigue builds across heavy lifts, synchro movements, and sustained cardio output. Inflammation increases as workload accumulates. Grip strength fades. Breathing remains elevated longer between sessions.
In later workouts, execution requires greater concentration. Clean movement patterns become harder to maintain. Communication must stay clear even when energy levels drop.
At this point, recovery is no longer something reserved for after competition. It becomes part of how athletes sustain performance throughout it.
Recovery Between Workouts
Between sessions, athletes look for ways to support muscle recovery before stepping back onto the floor.
Cold water immersion, often referred to as an ice bath, is commonly used in competitive sport to help manage muscle soreness and support muscle recovery after intense exercise. Many professional athletes integrate cold therapy into their routine, both between efforts and during recovery after competition.
The ice bath benefits are practical. Cold exposure can support recovery between sessions and offer a brief mental reset in the middle of a demanding competition day. When performance must be repeated, structured recovery becomes part of maintaining consistency.
Recovery that fits naturally into short breaks supports readiness, not just relief.
Icetubs on Competition Day
At the Red Bull Gym Clash Netherlands Final, recovery stands alongside performance.
On site, we support athletes between workouts with the IceBarrel and the IceBath. Athletes can step into cold water immediately after a session, integrating cold therapy directly into their competition rhythm.
Dedicated ice bath tubs help athletes recover in a consistent way throughout the day. An ice bath tub with chiller maintains stable water temperature, even as multiple teams rotate through their recovery window.
Rather than improvising recovery, athletes step into a structured routine designed for demanding environments. These ice bath tub benefits matter most when performance must be repeated under pressure.
Red Bull Gym Clash pushes teams to their limits in the battle for “The Greatest Gym on Earth,” the ultimate measure of gym performance.
We are there for what comes after the workout.
