Choosing a cold plunge chiller is not only about buying the strongest unit you can find.

The right size depends on your tub, your space, and the way you use cold water.

A chiller that works well for a small indoor tub may struggle with a large outdoor plunge in summer. A setup with strong insulation may need less cooling power than a thin container exposed to sun and wind.

Sizing is about fit.

You want enough power to cool the water reliably without turning the setup into an oversized, inefficient, or difficult system.

Start with Water Volume

Water volume is the first factor.

The more water your tub holds, the more heat the chiller needs to remove. A compact plunge tub will usually cool faster than a large bath with high water volume.
